FL Hospital- Orlando/ New Grad Program

Nurses General Nursing

I just left an interview w/ Surgical PCU at Florida Hospital for their new-grad program. I feel like I bombed it, but my friends and family are telling me to keep my head up! I need some opinions/advice!!

I interviewed w/ the charge nurse and the assistant charge nurse (both SUPER nice) and they asked me questions like "why do you want to work here" and "what were some of your better clinical experiences?". I answered those questions to the best of my ability, but felt nervous and even told them that. They then asked me more scenario-like questions and I felt I did okay with those.. However, I froze a little bit when answering questions about cardiac markers and TIA (I got them right, but just froze).

During the interview, the assistant charge nurse kept saying things like, "when you work here" and "whenever you get hired.."- should I take that into consideration as a sign that they liked me? Also, whenever the interview was over, the charge nurse gave me a tour of the unit.. I don't know, I don't want to overthink the whole thing, but since it is New Years, the HR recruiter will be out of office and unable to get back to me immediately.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with them? If so, how long did it take for them to get back to you? Also, do they notify you if you DIDN'T get the position?

I'm sorry, I'm just a ball of nerves! Somebody help me, please!!

Getting a tour post interview is usually a good sign.

As as is the statements like, "when you start working here..." etc.

Take a breath and try not to get too worked up. Sounds like you did just fine.

Good luck!
