Has anyone taken them? Did they help balance your moods? Along with being good for your heart, there have been studies that show they help with depression and anxiety.

My daughters pediatrician suggested we give her fish oil (she has ADHD) for her moods. If it helps, it helps :)

Thanks for the info. I'm taking them, so I find it interesting.

For years, I've taken 2 grams daily. I take it in divided doses with food. I've never felt a difference in how I feel, it's more of a prevention motive for me. The evidence seems overwhelming that fish oils are so beneficial.

I take one gram daily for cardiovascular and joint health. I had no idea it had any effect on mood. Thanks for clueing me in on that fact. I had heard claims that flaxseed oil was as effective as medication in helping hyperactive children focus. Must say I take a lot less NSAIDS now.

I have just heard recently that there have been findings that it also helps prevent Alzheimer... anyone else heard this?

I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian, so I've tried taking flax oil capsules. I really think they help my joints and my dry eyes, but I swear they impact my intestines in a socially unacceptable way. ;-) I stopped taking them about three weeks ago and I really do think my knees are feeling worse. I'm going to try to ease back into taking them to see if I can keep the, um, rumbles to a minimum.

Thanks for the informative site! I just started taking this too. :)

If there is something you're destined to get I can't see how taking fish oil pills will do anything. At the suggestion of a psychiatrist we started giving it to my father-in-law twice a day and never noticed any kind of difference. We stopped giving them to him and didn't notice anything.

I won't be lining up to buy any.

cod liver oil helped me a lot with constipation. I take them as needed.

I have started taking flaxseed oil and linseed oil, as I heard it reduces the cyst or lump. I have one hard lump on my right breast almost axillary. Hope it would work. I had a mammogram 2 years ago, my first time ever and they did not see anything. Now this thing develop and am afraid it might cost me my job. I was asked to get another mammogram. I would appreciate suggestions.

I've always heard that eating fish was good for your brain but everything else too? I'm going to be eating more fish! It certainly couldn't hurt to take fish oil supplements but has anyone ever experienced smelling like fish? :chuckle:
