Feeling like a failure

Nurses General Nursing

I worked full time this semester and I did nothing but study and I still ended up not passing Med/Surg by 1% which is 5 points. I feel so low today because I have to retake the course this fall and I am behind and won't graduate with my BSN until the end of 2020. Has anyone else every been in my shoes? Word of advice?

It definitely makes you feel terrible. I think part of the learning experience in nursing school is learning that you can push through even the most difficult emotions. This is a must for a nurse. You learn that no matter how terrible you feel, you can and must function at a high level.

That being said, I know many nurses who have failed one of the big courses and had to repeat. You will be better for it. You get more time to digest the information, more time to really consolidate and understand it. Repeating the course will give you a stronger foundation for what comes next.

I know it would have been great to pass, and missing by so little is frustrating.

Let it go and kill it next semester.

all the best to you.
