Hello everyone. What a wonderful site!!!

Does anyone have any employment seeking suggestions for a new grad? I will complete the BSN program in June and would like to relocate to CA, FLA, or HI (I'm a Buckeye!!!). I am interested in trauma and all aspects of critical care.

The hours of website searching is crazy!! There has to be a better way.

Please help:(

Any advice is much appreciated.

Good luck to you.

Most larger hospitals have a trauma center. It might help to hone in on a few cities you're interested in.

my famous two step formula for getting a job in nursing:

1. apply to any level 1 trauma teaching hospital in any major city

2. show up for the interview preferably clothed and with your heart beating

I would start sending your resume to any place you are interested in working/living now...Several of the nurses I graduated with live in the DC area. It is a very busy city and you can learn a lot there. I know some of the hospitals offer sign on bonuses and pay for your moving expenses. So, far none of them are unhappy. DC is expensive and most of them live on the outskirts of the city...but there is plenty of help securing a place to live once you are hired.

AND, I believe that most of the larger cities do this for new grads...NOT all. Have you looked in the back of the nursing magazines? RN, Nursing 2007, Critical Care Nurse? Most have employment advertisements.
