At your hospital ,state or what have you can you work dual status maybe I'm confused but we have a nurse practioner at my hospitalwho works our E.R. triage and back ups the ER Dr's in the codes but then when I took my son into the surgery center for dental work the DDS contracted him to be the CRNA for the procedure, no complaints he did a excellent job, but I didn't know you could be a N.P. and a CRNA?? Now the hospital and the surgery center have no affiliation to totally different companies does that make a difference?

It makes it hard to do each job effectively, I think. You have to remember which position you're working at any given moment and it can get confusing in a pinch.
