Try the University of Phoenix. http://www.phoenix.edu. I am currently enrolled in their online MSN program. Since 4/00, I have received 14 grad credits. The program fits my needs so well, as I work full-time and have a family. The school has a variety of programs, so it might be worth your while to check it out. It is intense, however, since 3 credits courses run for only 6 weeks. It is during this six weeks that you are required to participant in the main classroom 5 out of 7 days, write individual and group projects. Yes, I said group. It can be cumbersome, but very doable. The student must enjoy computers, be relatively computer literate, and be self-disciplined. For tech problems, a Tech Support service is available around the clock, so that if you are working at three in the morning, someone is there to answer any questions you might have and help you to troubleshoot. One of the great advantages is that you can attend class in your P.J.'s or whatever!!! :-)).

Thanks client for the Phoenix site but I couldn't find anything for LPN's. Good luck with your studies! Has anyone heard of Regents College in New York?I hear they have a few programs for nurses. I can't fit going the usual route to college so I will have to check out distance college. Help with info please!

I work with two nursing supervisors who both went through the Regent's program. One went in as an ADN and the other went in as an LPN. They both liked it very much as it fit in with their schedules at the time and they both would do it over again. One of them is considering enrolling in the CIS program. You've probably been to the site already, but if you haven't check it out. www.regentscollege.edu If you want more info. about it e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll speak with them about it. Good luck!

Please go the the nursing spectrum web site before you consider Reagants - there are multiple postings from people that have had major problems with Reagents.

Most of the posts advice against that program. Be careful

I have heard nothing but horror stories about regents. I would be really careful and research it well before you commit to anything with them. I agree to go to Nursing Spectrum and ask the people there about their experiences with regents.

I have met a few people who went through regents only to not pass. Not a good picture.

Thanks Doey, KmRn, and JillR. I did check out spectrum but I still haven't decided. I am going to do some form of distance learning but not sure who my degree will be from. I wish I could do it the ordinary way and go back to school but it's just not in the cards yet and I'm sick of waiting and wasting time. Wish me luck! It's going to be a long ride, hopefully not bumpy?

I, too, have been looking into distance learning. I'm not sure what they have for the route you're going... I'm probably going to go the MSN route through OSU. You may want to look into that and see if they have what you're looking for.
