Hi Everyone,

This is my first post, so I hope I put it in the right spot! I started going to college part-time last year for nursing. I still have a few classes left to take before starting the program. My question is...the school advisor recommended for me to only take Biology this semester. She said it was a fairly hard class and since I have been out of school 15 years, I may not want to over-load myself. I know everyone is different, but if I could get some input, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.:typing

PS...I have been taking 2 classes at a time.

if your talking about Anatomy and Physiology, and, if you have the time, take it by itself. you will spend an enormous amount of time on this course. You have to get in the lab as often as possible. If your talking about Microbiology, you could probably take another less intense course and be okay. just my 2:twocents:

It is not the A&P, it is regular Biology (I need that first). I really wanted to take the 2 classes, but the advisor scared me out of it.

What is the other class you'd take with Biology?

I was in the same situation you are now in. If I had to do it again, I would take one class at a time. This way, you get to absorb all that the class has to offer. Most science classes are very time consuming and demanding. Also, at least from my personal experience, the concepts were very hard to digest and it kept rolling into each other. I suffered taking a science class with English and Psychology because while I got the grade I aimed for in Anatomy, my English and Psychology grades suffered...B in anatomy, B in Eng, when it clearly should have been an A had I not been distracted and B+ in Psychology. Still got in the program, but, I was just lucky. Good luck!

Well I took a and p 1 and 2 and then microbioology.....I took micro as a summer coorifice...it was much easier then taking it during a reg school semester!!!! Think about it

How are you with sciences? I found basic bio pretty easy, but struggled with the A&P's . I think it really depends on what other class you would take and the time you have to devote to school - but if you have the time to study and the other class is something less time consuming I would think taking 2 classes would not be a problem. Anatomy and Physiology is much more time consuming - I would take 2 classes now if that would make it possible to take A&P by itself.
