Choosing a Specialty/Internship

I will graduate in May 2010 and I'm trying to gather opinions about internships. I was wondering if anyone went into a perioperative internship right out of school and what exactly does a position as a circulator entail? I'm trying to decide if this would be a good fit for me. My clinical instructor and I both agree that I would be better off in a specialty rather than med/surg or ER. I do much better when I can really focus my time and attention on a couple/few patients rather than have a zillion things going on in all directions. Now I know all areas of nursing are going to be chaotic at times... I realize this.. its just that some areas are worse than others, and I am well aware of my weaknesses. I'm thinking my three choices will be NICU, PICU, possibly perioperative or adult ICU. If anyone has done internships in these areas and could give me some idea of what its like, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)
