I would look through a phone book, check the newspapers and inquire at community colleges. I even hear that the Red Cross offers the class in some areas. I live in New York, but most of the courses seem to range from $500-$1000 dollars and most seem to complete within a month to six weeks if full time. I have recently heard of virtual/on line classes, however, I would not advise to do an on line program, because there are skills that you may not have experience in such as checking vital signs, changing an occupied bed, and many others that need to be witnessed. Also, there is a skills and written exam that has to be taken. Here in New York, if you fail even one of the 5 skills out of at least 40 that they may ask you to perform, you will not be able to take the written exam.

In addition to pagandeva's suggestions, check local nursing homes. They usually offer them for free with no requirement to work a set amount of time after becoming certified.

there is a link to your state cna program on one of the sticky threads of the cna - nursing assistant discussions forum of allnurses at https://allnurses.com/forums/f265/. once you go to your state cna website there should be either a listing of the cna training programs or an address or number you can call to get them.

As the other members have advised, you can go to the state Board of Nursing site and search for programs there. I found a nurse aide program in my area from http://www.cnatips.com you can check there too. Good luck!
