Has anyone taken the CEN recently? If so, was their any review material/ practice questions/ videos that were helpful?

I have been watching Facebook posts on suggestions.

Mark Boswell's name comes up often. He has his review of system lectures on youtube. I thinks he actually has a system review book with question/answers/rationale (but not definite on that). But I know definitely, he has 3 small question/answer/rationale books each with 150 questions you can order off Amazon.

The best reviews I heard were on Jeff Solheim.***** Go on Solheimenterprises.com***** it has online modules, you can purchase as a bundle with all systems or systems individually. The price is a little high but by the time you buy several books your at that price. You can put it on 2 devices when you pay for it. I put it on my ipad and a friends. We split the price. And we have access to the modules for a year.

Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio's name came up multiple times. She actually is more involved with CCRN but she has done CEN. She has videos on youtube, as well. She is fun to listen to.

Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN): Self-Assessment and Exam Review Book by Jayne Mcgrath and Andi Foley

Has a quick down and dirty system review followed by question/answer/rationale then at the end of the book there is another 150 random questions with answer/rationale for a total of 300 questions.

If you have an iPhone, I found an App " CEN PREP-2017 " for like $20 it has over 700 questions/answers/rationale.

What you start with is what you think your base knowledge is. I took a sample test on the phone app and decided from there. If I made 75% or greater, I would just review question/answer/rationale and only study the systems I felt weak. I hit 63%. So sad! There was a lot of OB, herbs and random weird stuff I have never heard of in my 25 years in the ER. So I decided on Solhiem, talk about "keep it simple, stupid". Have great visual printouts also! Wish he was around years ago.

Sheehy's Manual of Emergency Care -I know it is a review book but I'm not sure if it has any questions/answers in it if you are wanting question answers.

And some mentioned the CEN Review Manual by Emergency Nurses Association Staff- which is a review book and has access to Online several exams

Hope this helps!!
