Board Certification - I Passed!

Okay so I am hooting my own horn. So?

Really, by the age of 50, if ya can't hoot your own horn... by golly.

On October 19th, I took the Medical / Surgical ANCC test for Board Certification. Honestly, I was sure I failed. I have a bad habit of remembering the wrong answers and quizzed my colleagues in the hall.

Some areas of questioning, I knew I knew; some areas were flat out best educated guess. I guess I guessed right!

Holy Moly! Now how do I sign my new initials? lol!

Congratulations, Nightngale! As a CCRN, I know how hard it is to pass certification exams; your co-workers may or may not be impressed with the hard work and disipline it takes to pass the exam, but I am and you should be proud of your self. First time I passed my certification exam, my DH went and bought me a "Supernurse" tee shirt. I'd strongly recommend that you get one too.

Congratulations! I just renewed my med/surg certification for the first time this year. Didn't want it to lapse because I thought it was one of the hardest tests I had ever taken and sure didn't want to go through that again! Thought for sure I had flunked it, too. Treat yourself to something nice! You deserve it.

Congrats to you! I also took the test in October so I sympathize with you completely. Did they have to wait the full 8 weeks to send the results? I have been checking and rechecking the mail for about two weeks now :rolleyes:

I started signing RNC Saturday night, the same day the results came in . I already have the paperwork turned in for the reimbursment for the exam cost and the pay increase my employer offers.:D

Awesome!!!! That isn't an easy test to pass. I took it several years ago and felt the same way.
