Background checks in Texas

Hi all, I am inquiring on the frequency the TX BON conducts background checks after you have become an RN. Thanks

Inquiring minds want to know why? Most states will run backgrounds upon initial licensure and on subsequent renewals ask the question "Have you been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony in the last licensing period. Some states (California) simply ask for finger prints every licensing period which they run against the criminal data base. If you have done something it's best not to lie. The truth will come out eventually and BON's generally don't like being lied to. Remember a lie by omission is still a lie.
