As a RN have you ever had a problem finding a job?

I mean anywhere in the USA? And is it true you get to travel?

Problem finding a job? In a word....no.

I once quit an RN position in TX and moved to ME with nothing but an interview scheduled......I was at work within a week!

Travel nursing is an option also. They do require that you have some experience, though. It won't be the first job you'd get.

I've only worked in Wisconsin, but in two very different areas. I've never had a problem finding a job. In fact, I've always gotten exactly the job I wanted.

YES...I'm having a helluva time. I can only work like 6 days a month because I'm disabled and need evening/nights and weekends only. We live in a very rural area and I only have an Associate's Degree...there are like 3 ads in our local newspaper wanting an RN with a BSN or MSN. ARGH! I'd like to go back to school but really cannot afford to.

I have submitted my resume online at Monster....I've mailed my resume to a few places...I've made tons of phone calls asking if someone is hiring. I have done everything I know of to try to get a job. Of course, if I wanted to travel 2 hours away one way I could work in Kansas City. But I hate driving and leaving my boys with a sitter. My hubby is an over the road truck driver so he is only home sporadically. I do have family that could watch my babies, but with the price of gas and having to be on the road 4 hours per day...ARGH!

I've worked in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and now the Peoria, IL areas. Nope - no problems for RN jobs.

I have been fortunate. Anywhere I have wanted to go to and work, I have always been able to find work. I even took a job in Hawaii, spent a year there, loved it. Beach time, golf time, SURFing time. Party time.

It was a dream.

Sometimes with large cooperations it can take some time to make it through the hiring process but no I've never had a hard time getting a job. I think it's got to be the easiest profession to obtain a job fast no matter where you go...now if we could just get a "national license" it would make it even easier.

I've lived in NY (state, not city) and SC and I have never had a problem finding a job.

I live in NYC and i just got my RN license last month. Im STILL looking for a job. I got my associates degree in nursing and a bachelors degree in lib arts. i applied to many hospitals but i still havent heard a thing! any suggestions?? :banghead:
