Army medic to RN

Good morning guys! I'm just a medic in the military and I'm getting out within the year to become an RN. I plan on obtaining an associates degree to get to that point. There are so many steps to take to advance forward, any advice? Besides choosing a college, where do I even begin???

I have worked with several people who were military medics and transitioned to civilian nursing. Some suggestions:

Research schools in your desired area, and apply to several. Many have wait lists, so the path may take longer than you originally hope for.

Have a plan for employment until you are in nursing school full-time ... and maybe even something that you can continue on a very part-time or casual basis once you start school.

Do you plan to explore the possibility of continuing to work in EMS as a civilian? Find out what the requirements would be in your state - if your military experience would allow certification, or if you would have to complete an educational program.
