Anyone volunteer at shelters?

Any nurses volunteer or work in shelters? I was hoping I could do wound care or even something non/nursing but would like to provide care to those who can't afford.

I would do something non-nursing since you would need to work under doctor's orders to do wound care and you wouldn't have an employer to cover you for liability either!! Homeless or not their are always "family members" willing to come out of the woodwork when there is a money and a potential lawsuit involved!
