Any ideas for annual goals?

Nurses General Nursing

I have my review in a few days and at the facility I work for we are required to submit goals each year to be included in our review the following year. They must be measureable and fit under one of our five pillars which are quality, finance, growth, service, and people. I am an OB nurse with three years of experience and care for moms/babes postpartum and also care for labor patients. Any ideas?

How about:

1. Obtain hospital funding to attend an outside conference on evidence based OB care and provide a brief information sharing session to other staff members.

2. Attend a hospital - provided preceptor course in preparation for accepting an assignment to precept an orientee or student nurse.

3. Attend a hospital - provided charge nurse course and begin to orient to the charge nurse role.

4. Attend a hospital - provided ACLS course and obtain ACLS certification.

5. Represent the unit on a hospital-wide committee (such as recruitment, retention, infection control, morbidity and mortality, etc.), earning comp time or OT for any working hours in addition to your regular schedule.
