ANCC Med-Surg Certification?

I was looking at a med-surg/tele job listing at a very desirable hospital I am interested in getting into and it listed ANCC Med-Surg certification (RN-BC) as not mandatory but a highly desirable qualification. I am just now looking into it and it sounds very NCLEX-like. I am still going to apply for the job, and might work on the additional certification, but I am not exactly motivated. I already study a lot of extra things now.

Do you recommend any prep course specific to this certification? What is your experience with this certification? Has it helped you professionally? My work gets more excited for AACN/CCRN certifications. I welcome any input anyone has on the matter.

If your work looks more favorably on the aacn certification, is there a particular reason you're not considering the pccn?

My understanding of the accn bc certification is that there are a lot of CEs required. My friend was certified through her employer and talked of the videos they had her watch to fulfill that requirement. If your work doesnt have that, it may be a pain to arrange on your own.
