Nurses General Nursing

I saw on CNN that some hospitals are promising free service if patients don't see a doc within 30 min in the E.R.!

What do you guys think about this?:imbar

Have they hired a bunch of docs, or what?

Sounds like the hospitals are going to be losing some money, unless they plan to have an MD do nothing but triage!

I agree eltrip....as if nurses aren't busy enough already!

BTW in addition to the free service- they are offering free dinners

and movies.

Hey knowlegzseekr,

The next time one of us has an illness outside of normal business hours, let's get together & go to one of these EDs & see how they treat US! :D

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

the operative word is SEE. sure they will see the doctor within 30 minutes. they'll be walking/running past their room, sitting at the station in deep thought....you get the picture. or maybe they'll just walk into the room and say "hi, i'm doctor____. just wanted you to know that i will be overseeing your care...will be back in a little while!" :D :p

if it wasn't free service and it was a monetary reimbursement, i bet us nurses could go down there all at once and get a nice check!!! :chuckle

it is so sad. they could have better service if they were better staffed...let's pay the nurses better and hire more nursing staff. not push the ones that are already working their a$$es off to a more extreme level. and what about the people that complain that a doctor only spent 5 minutes with them?? i can't see this one working...will be interesting to see some follow up.

Great, another hospital has found a way to promise more than it can ever deliver.

Where do they come up with these ideas?

Do nurses ever go into marketing? Has any hospital marketing person ever been outside of their office or do they wear blinders as they go through the hospital?

Does the CEO/administrator/ chief of ER know what has been promised?

If ER s keep promoting themselves as clinics they will be treated as such. This motto would be more appropriate if they have a fasttrack that will truly be a fasttrack.

And what's the matter with seeing the nurse triage? We can do that within 10 minutes, screen out all the riff raff.
