This is the second time ive stuck myself at my job with an insulin needle after injecting it. Been a year or so. The last time was a big hassle having to report it and they made me feel a bit inadequate for doing it! I mean its not hard to do! And then I had to go get blood drawn and tested and the resident also had to. I dont want to do that again but this is a different resident. She does not have a dx of hiv, hep, etc....I want to be reasurred that i should be ok just letting it go???

No one can reassure you that everything will be ok. The only path to reassurance will be to follow your needle-stick protocol, even if it's a pain.
