Man! I come to work everyday with a decent attitude and sometimes there are people who absolutely make you feel like crap! These are supposed to be COWORKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it me? Or are some people just total $$%^*&^%$ ???????????

There, there! Deep breaths. Remember - the only thing really wrong with modern health care is that we can't cure stupidity - and sometimes our coworkers are infected ;).

Big hugs for a better day.

It's not you---Some people ARE total $%&%*^.

Don't give your coworkers the power to change your mood. If they truly are that bad move on. I just moved from a unit where the number of bad attitudes and selfishness outnumbered the good people. When that happened I hit the road. (But stayed within the hospital.) Caused a big stink, but at least I'm happy.

Now on the new unit they may be one or two bad seeds, but they don't bring me down.

Good luck.

It is so easy to let other's sour attitudes affect yours. I used to work on a night shift with a great RN while I was an LPN in my second year of nursing school. We found about 0500 or so we were snapping at each other and getting exasperated with patients. Well the shift that followed us came in already cussing their day before they even began it. They walked in the door nitpicking and complaining. One night this nurse said to me that no matter what we were not going to let their bad attitudes spoil our shift. So we didn't we decided to be the example, and left every morning telling them to have a good day. And did not let the anticipation of all the negativity affect us. Did it change their attitudes---no. But we sure felt better knowing that we were being the example rather than part of the problem.

I guess my point is--

you can't change them--but you can change how they affect you.

Put quite nicely!! I totally agree!!

Yes some people are truly *#%&)$*&^s. We have one coworker who really loves creating problems among the staff. Finally everyone got together and decided that we weren't going to let her do it to us anymore. And she has decided it is time to move on. YEA!!! We have the power to decide our own feelings and moods. Don't let one bad seed ruin the full bunch.:)

Repeat after me NMP NMP stands for NOT MY PROBLEM. The bad attitude is thier problem not yours. Don't let them infect you. The worst thing you can do to these people is to not notice thier behaiour but if that is not possible a quiet "OH for heavens sake - lighten up" often does wonders. If you need a shoulder to cry on PM me I am the grande dame of bullied victims and can possibly help you survive.

In the meantime take a sip of our "buff mod's" drink and relax.

p.s. don't you just hate the way ***** comes out as asterixes

I agree with gwenith. Don't let them bother you. Today I was being spoken to by someone so obnoxious, so crass that it was like a pain shooting through my head. I made a quick polite response and then turned my back on them. If I can't get them out of my life, I can at least get them out of my line of vision.

Chin up. When they do not get the responses they are looking for from you- they will seek them from someone else and become someone elses problem.

I went to see a band last year and the had shirts unfortunately sold out, that said "You can't make me hate myself!!"

I wish I had that on a scrub top.

It's hard to work around negative, ugly people. One or two we can handle..but I agree with 3rd shift guy...if there'

s too many, move on...life is too short. :(

People like that is why God created beer!
