Well all....I signed up today to take my 4 general education courses this fall... I have to take
Advanced Anatomy and Physiology
Microbiology
Public Speaking
and
Sociology
in order to finish them up for the ASN program at school.
They go by a point system. You have to have a certain amount of points in order to even get in! ANd they don't use points from grades in your LPN courses either...
My grades weren't that hot (mostly B's and C's), so I decided to go ahead and take all 4 classes this fall in order to try and get my points up for a better chance of getting in ASN. I'm afraid now because I thought if you didn't make it the first time, you were put on a waiting list for the next year.
Come to find out today, if you don't make it the first time around, you have to wait another year, and do the whole blasted thing over again!
So I really need to bust my buns and get this done...
Thanks for listening everyone...I just needed to vent a little and cry my tears of frustration:crying2:
Even though I know I'm moving ahead, I feel sometimes like it's just bumping my head against a wall!:chair:
But you know what? After I'm done, I'm gonna be a and a darn good one!
Let me get off my soapbox now...

Boy! I would have been tempted to take a semester off! You must really have drive. I noticed that you are also working. How do you do it? They won't give us a schedule for Fall yet, but they did say to expect about 27 hrs a week of med- surg plus class time. We are also expected to study 2 hours a day for every hour of class. They told us to clean our house real good before Fall semester because we wouldn't have time to clean it again until next summer. How many hours a week are you in school? I hope I can handle it as well as you seem to:)

hey,
Are you in a PN or RN program? I didn't have a hard time at all in PN school (yes, I passed boards first time up:D ). I guess I may just be good at tests or something. I enjoy reading on my own and that was what helped me. I did use my class time wisely and took good notes. Other than that, I didn't have to study for 10 hours a day. Please don't stress out from this. You can do it...find a managable schedule and don't forget to stop and smell the roses. GOOD LUCK!
