Hello everyone,

I am currently completing my pre-reqs for nursing school and so far in all the science and pre reqs for nursing school I have A's.

Recently tho I recieved a C in a political science class and I am worried that this will affect my chances of getting into nursing school. Does anyone else have experience with getting one C in a general Ed class and still getting into nursing school? My pre-req grades are all good it's just this one political science class I got a C in!!

I don't believe that class will affect your chances. Most schools rely on the classes relative to the nursing major.

Don't believe that would affect your chances. I got accepted into my Fall 2018 nursing program. I did get a C in A&P 1 however which was the only C I've ever gotten. Good Luck

Honestly depends on the school. Look at what the admissions criteria and what they're asking for

When I applied to school back in the dark ages, the program I applied to required that I submit transcripts from all schools that I attended, and included all grades, regardless of whether the classes were accepted as transfer; although this practice varies from program to program. Having said that, if you have received an A in all classes, except for this one C, it likely is going to have minimal impact on you GPA.

Best wishes.

Most nursing schools focus on your core nursing courses which is anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chemistry, statistics, and Human development. Also. Check out my youtube channel Diary of a Nursing Student, I try to help future nurses in all areas.

Don't stress it, I think overall GPA is a little bit important only, pre-req classes are immensely more important! Since you have all A's you sound solid!

Every school has different criteria. No offense but a question like this can't be asked on an online forum because it truly depends on the school. Some schools just look at prerequisite grades for admission, but may use your total GPA if it comes down to a tie-breaker, etc.

Best of luck to you!
