Hi GI Nurses!

My husband was diagnosed with PBC yesterday. He is seeing a specialist Monday. He is a 54 yo healthy firefighter. Yearly FD physical had elevated Liver Enzymes. ..leading to the diagnosis. From what I have found so far, this is pretty scary. Anyone know about progression or prognosis in general? Thanks so much for any info!

TOS does not allow providing medical advice. As the professional familiar with your husband, his medical provider would be the best person to ask.

Hello,

As stated above, we cannot provide the medical advice you require.

Your husband and you need to discuss this with his physician.

We do wish you both well with this. You will be in our thoughts.

Member is correct, no medical advice may be dispensed on this site.

Good sources of information are websites maintained by the Mayo Clinic and the American Liver Foundation.

His specialist and the staff will likely be helpful as well.

Wishing you much support, all questions answered and good response to his treatment.
