Hello all you beautiful ppl!
I figured i should turn to all nurses since i get most of my answers here. I am currently an LVN with a california license i got accepted to Galen College i San Antonio. I read all the accreditation and they are regional accredited no by acen/NLN my thing question is has there anyone out there thats graduated from Galen college have had any problems endrosing/reciprocity their nursing
license in other states? Has anyone ever endrosed to california? was there any supplemental classes you need
to take and was the education requirements acceptable to endorse to
california?thank you all

Galen is approved by the BON to take the RN boards in my state. State to state requirements for licensure endorsement may vary, I know they do with the LPN license but it has to do with state requirements (such as completing a clinical segment for a specialty that may not be required in the original state). I would check with the California BON for clarification on what they would require/accept.
They are regional accredited by SACS, which means that their credits are most likely to transfer to another college for further education (My community college that is ACEN accredited has already stated that they would accept this college for an RN to BSN student). Galen is in the process of getting ACEN accreditation but does not have it yet.
The college is expense and if you can get into a community college I would recommend that route. I enrolled prior to them putting a time limit on science transfers, otherwise I wouldn't be willing to pay what they are asking but I transferred the 49% of my credits that they allowed so it cut the cost for me as well as time. I feel the quality of the education has been good and many hospitals in my area hire their graduates. Hope this helps a little anyway

Pree07 were you able to attend Galen college? If so does it meet requirements for Cali. I'm in the same situation. I was interested in the Tampa Bay campus since they are acen accredited.
