Hey!

I have an active nursing license in the state of GA, and am an American citizen.

I recently (Jan 2019) moved to the UK to work as an RN and have been working here since February 2019. I am trying to renew my USA GA license and am curious if anyone else has done this process.

The GA board of nursing offers a few options for renewing your license, one of which is working 500 hours. I have worked well over that in the UK and was hoping someone would know if they would accept the 500 hour form to be filled out by my UK hospital?

Or any other tips on renewing your license when you're out of country.

I'm not sure, you should call them. The phone number is 1(478)207-2440. Hope this helps!

Why not just do the 30 hours continuing education?

@jackyalmostrn

Hey! I tried calling them already, twice, and spoke to two different people but neither seemed to know and said "I guess you could <XYZ>" and so were not helpful or reassuring, and couldn't give me any definite answers.

@chare

I thought about doing that but I'm not sure if the classes/lectures etc I'm attending in the UK would qualify, since their website states they need to be certified by national bodies and I presume by "national" they mean American, not English? I'm not sure though and like I said, they couldn't tell me over the phone. https://sos.ga.gov/index.php/licensing/plb/45/continuing_education_requirements has info about CE credits at the bottom but it's not helpful.

There are several online sources of continuing education.  I am familiar with, and have used, CEUfast.  For the $29.99 enrollment fee you get unlimited access.

Best wishes.
