Hi. I just got approved for an internal transfer to out Hemotology/Oncology Unit. We also do Bone Marrow Transplantation there. I'm currently working as a Transplant RN. I will be going to this new unit the 1st week in January. Does anyone with Oncology experience have any suggestions as to what I can read or do to help make this transition easier? Any great websites I can read new information about the field? Thanks.

You'll be fine. I am sure they will give you loads of info.

The University of Central Florida SON has a cool little Fundamentals of Oncology course online. It's free and looks like it has a great deal of information. Check out http://reach.ucf.edu/~OncEduc1/ and click on Sections.

Hi Eric - Thanks so much for your post about the online oncology course! This is bizarre, but I am a graduate of the UCF School of Nursing and had no idea this course existed until I saw your post! I am familiar with Dr. Dow (she's one of the authors of the course), as she was a guest speaker for some of my classes. She has contributed greatly in the area of research on breast cancer. I am looking forward to checking this course out, as I want to get into oncology nursing. Thanks so much - this is great!

Thanks Eric! This is just what I would like to read also.
