i'll soon be transferred to icu from being a ward nurse for two years now..just wondering..and what i'm really confused in right now is where would i like to be transferred???got any idea on the work background in medical icu?neuro icu?surgical icu?coronary care unit?or would it be more worth the experienc ein the emergency room???plllllllleeeeeasssssssseeeee heeeeeeellllllppppp!!!

Usually it's a better idea to start with the ICU that compliments the ward you've been working on. For example if you generall work with med-surg patients then try SICU or MICU depending. If you worked a neuro ward, start with Neuro ICU, etc.
ER is a whole other ball game where you're going to deal with critical patients but also the one's with the cold symtoms and bellly aches. So if your interest is ICU, stick with ICU.
Just opinions.
