Future Canadian RPN Student...Comparing Nursing Ed and Work to NY State

Hey Everyone,

I am a future Canadian RPN student wanting to get a head start on plans for living/studying and working as a nurse in NYC. I have a particular interest in Hunter College School of Nursing and am wanting to connect to other Canadian nurses who have moved to the States, particularly NY.

I have been scouring the internet, and have also contacted Hunter College's International Students staff, but am wondering how the Canadian RPN diploma and practice translates in the States....there seems to be mixed information. I am wanting to research this, to weigh the options/benefits of pursuing further education either here in Canada, or in NY state, and what credentials would be most valuable, etc.

I know that there are many, many factors to consider and thought that connecting with someone who has actually been through the process would be the best way to start.
