I am new to this blog and posted last night about my incident. For those of you who have not read it, I am a nurse in PNAP/DMU for the past 4 1/2 years for alcoholism. I recently made a terrible decision to take a tramadol for stomach cramps. I think I must have been setting myself up for a relapse and took my time in sobriety for granted. I now am waiting to hear back from the BON as to what my fate will be. Does anyone have experience with something like this? How long does the BON take to inform you if ur lic will be suspended or contract re-started? My boss said she will hold my job for a while, but I need to give her an estimated time frame. I am terrified I will lose my lic for 3 years, I cannot finacially be out of work for that long, I will then have to surrender my lic and find a new profession. I love nursing and this will devestate me. Any advice, prayers or calming words are very much appreiciated.
