FSW Fall 2022

Published

Hey y’all!! I’m taking prerequisites and I’m hoping to apply by May 2022 Lord willing. I noticed that the previous program started a post and figured why not get one started for the next class. I’ll update this post when I apply and if/when I get accepted.

OK great, because that changes a lot. I guess I didn’t do great on math and writing test (no time to even study) but if they count the stats only I have a 4.0 total so that’s my saving grace LOL

Definitely!! Those extra couple of points I feel do make a difference. I think you should be fine ☺️

we got our first email on may 25th and the testing went until June 9th. you have to prioritize this program over everything else. over work, over family, over other responsibilities. if you couldn't find the time to study for the tests during that time, you have to work harder to reprioritize your responsibilities. we had at least 7-16 days to study for the tests. you can find out your GPA using the ASN applicant score sheet on the program website. this program does require a full-time commitment, which means 8 hours a day or more dedicated solely to your schooling.

I appreciate what you’re saying, and believe the same sentiment. However, not everyone can just drop their responsibilities or stop working when it comes to the application process or even being a full fledged nursing student.
We shouldn’t falsely judge someone on whether or not they have their priorities in order because we don’t know their circumstances and their day to day life.
We are all going through the same adjustment period and it’ll look different for each of us since we’re all different people with differing lives and responsibilities. Let’s show a little grace to people who are still trying to figure how to make the best of their circumstances and be a successful nursing student!

Yes for sure. I am just trying to be realistic with other applicants, it's not going to be easy. I know I'm being blunt but lots of people in the information session were asking questions about how low of a priority could they possibly make this and it really bothered me. Like your tests and homework are still going to be due no matter whats going on in your life and the only thing we can do is manage our time wisely and try try try. I'm sure you'll do great Noah I would just rather you hear it from a peer beforehand than hear it from an advisor or professor if you run into some hurdles. Hard work and effort is going to give us the results that we want!! ❤️ Sorry for being blunt I'm really just trying to show the importance of dedicating fully to this in order to succeed

Yo Austin maybe not everyone could I was out of the country for my grandmas funaral in Germany I think that’s way more important. Maybe understand peoples situation before going off.

It’s okay to be blunt, but I’m my opinion I think there’s always a better way to deliver your message without coming off judgy if that makes sense. At the end of the day, maybe those other applicant’s comments bothered you but you’re not responsible for others’ successes. Managing one’s time is not an easy task and something I work at every day, and I think most people do too. Life, as an adult is all about balance and it’s not linear. Some people may be better than others but that doesn’t mean they’re not trying just as hard. I appreciate that there is no malice or malicious intent to your advice and it’s coming from a place of wanting to help. I just think there’s a better way to go about it. But, I think we all get what you’re saying. You can be realistic and encouraging at the same time and we should all strive to do that! ❤️

I’m sorry for your loss! I lost both my grandpas within a year of each other my first year in college and it was super hard to focus and I ended up struggling a lot — coming from someone who was always a straight A student. This is why I said what I said, and extending grace to others because we don’t know their circumstances. It’s super awesome you were able to complete the application process in light of everything! Wish you good luck and hope the pain eases away with time ❤️

It's any gen ED math. So it can be MAC 1105 OR STA 2023 OR MGF 1106 OR MGF 1107.

I left my old job in retail and started to work for lee health this Feb. I work in a administrative position the pay is good but that is because I worked retail which is very low wages. I will say I love it and I work with the ER room. After a year they pay a portion towards your tuition and you get benefits even if you work part time. Right now I am working full time hours dropping to just weekends this fall. If I don't get into the program I still will be full time getting more pre reqs out of the way. I would definitely apply if I were you.

Thanks @Melcoff Garcia! Sounds like a great place to work! Can you ask around and see what they hire "Student Nurses" for if it's not too much trouble? I can't find any salary info online on the job posting.

I don’t think we’ll have an answer until at least Wednesday! Obviously tomorrow would be awesome but I doubt it. At least by Friday we’ll all know one way or another! ☺️

Anyone else feeling personally victimized by this waiting period? ??‍♀️
