FSCJ Summer 2014 Hopefuls

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.

That was for Anestesia, not you.

I know i said sorry for not reading who it was for

For everyone else who may construe my message incorrectly,

Like I said, I am not trying to be rude, but from past experiences of mine in the military, it is best in a very important situation like this, in which can change your life and many are passionate about, to know what you are trying to accomplish. Then when you understand your objectives, which are clearly explained in the nursing section of fscj's website, and you still have questions that are unexplained, this is the place to get answers. I am just trying to help by supporting self independence for the obvious questions. After saying that, I know it sounds like I'm being a d***, but I am not.

I agree with you even though it sounds harsh; this is a very self-motivated thing we are all doing and we damn sure will be the only ones who can get ourselves through nursing school. I think for whatever reason people don't understand the information they read in the nursing packet.

I agree with everything above... and I don't think it's harsh at all. Getting into a nursing program requires a lot of dedication and motivation.

Any day now!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!!! Thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself as I anxiously stalk my mailman like everyone else! Applied for days with a 196.8. Hoping and praying that it's enough. A little nervous because I know some people held out for the summer because spring didn't offer n/w. Good luck to everyone. Should be soon!!!!! :nailbiting:

Still nothing. My poor mailman. My neighbors must think I'm crazy as much as I'm checking the mailbox. Can anyone tell me what +2 SD means on the NAT test? They are next to my superior scores. No one has been able to tell me how to interpret these little numbers.

I'm pretty sure SD means standard deviation. What was your total NAT score?

Has anyone else heard that the wait list to get in to the program is unimaginably long. I have heard this from several different people. They always say it takes years to get in due to this wait list. I personally feel like that has to be incorrect because it is based on score and that is all, or so I believe. I just think maybe these people have not actually looked into the program and it is just here say from people who want people to believe that they want to become nurses, but are not actually dedicated enough to do it. I have heard this from like 5 different people. Even a nurse student from Breckenridge School of Nursing. He said he went there because he waited like 2 years to get into the program so he just went to Breckenridge. Maybe his scores couldn't cut it or something.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Personally, I feel like there are A LOT of people who apply but have unrealistic expectations regarding their chances of admission, given their grades and NAT score. These are the people who say that the wait list is long, in my opinion.

Ok, so AA i got a 99. SP I got an 83. INS I got a 95. So that total is 277.

Wait. that's wrong. raws scores were 78, 32, 74. So 184 * .64? 117.76?

Spelling is not a section that counts. That number needs to be replaced with Reading Comprehension.
