Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?
From the FSCJ website:
150 Percent Rule
Students receiving financial aid will have their aid terminated upon reaching 150 percent of the number of credits needed to complete their degree or certificate program. This regulation applies to all students, including those that have not previously received financial aid. For example, a student working toward an A.A. degree needs 60 hours to graduate. Once the student attempts 90 hours he/she is no longer eligible for financial aid. (60 hrs. x 150 percent = 90 hrs.) Under extenuating circumstances the 150 percent rule may be appealed. The 150 percent rule applies to all classes attempted by the student, including vocational and transfer hours. Students must make other arrangements to pay their tuition and fees if their financial aid is terminated and they do not appeal or their appeal is denied.
I was told the govenrment is really cracking down on this rule and the ammount of aid they lend out. If you have close to 90 credits or a medical illness that interefered with school, or other similar circumstances, then you may have a chance at the appeal. I don't fall under any of these...Does anybody know what the estimated cost of tuition, books, fees etc roughly is around to complete the program?
Do you feel or think that working and going to nursing school is to much? Is it possible to work and do well on tests and clinicals, studying and have time for other things? I have heard that it is hard, but I want to start working somewhere eventually if I get in the program or not.
KT, I haven't had a problem with it and I get all A's and B's. Some people say it's impossible, but I think it's just time management. I'm not married and don't have children so that gives me more free time.
