I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.
Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?
ready2bnrs, even if you don't get in, the CPR card is valid for 2 years (+ energy: you will get in!). I think it's better to get it out of the way so that it's one less thing you have to worry about later. Do you realize we will be running around like chickens with our heads cut off in approx 4 weeks? :nuke:

I know and I can't wait!! Yes, I know you're right about the CPR class, I'm just worried about the cutoff being super duper high. 4 weeks have passed and I need to start thinking more positive!!! We will get in!!!!

Although that's also in the back of my head, I really wouldn't think like that. The ONLY time it was ever that high was when there were 600+ applicants and the cutoff was at 202. This # was PRIOR to people declining their seats, too, so the # was probably a little lower. This term there were around 500 applicants. I really, really, REALLY want to believe that over 200+ is in. I'll be looking to CPR classes this week, too! Can we get an updated count down for letters............:uhoh21: 17 days left (6 week mark from 6/1/11)!!!!!!!!
Just so you know I talked to a friend that I know in the nursing department and they are now sending out the letters in August. It will be less than four weeks to get all the stuff done. It is a lot of stuff to get done. If you need physical or shots go to the place that the school provides it is the cheapest for all of the stuff you will need. at least the medical aspect of it. Get the CPR stuff done early B/C you will be able to find cheaper places then you would if you waited until the last minute.

Why August?? The Director last told me 6-8 weeks which would be mid-July. You'd think it would be earlier than August because applicants who don't get accepted may want to enroll in other classes during that term; those classes may be full by the time they get a decision from the nursing department. That would stink. I guess worse case scenario, apply for Fall Term classes, then drop them if you get a congrats letter. I think I may do that, just to play it safe.
But, you're right, if it is August, lots of last minute scrambling for those who get in.
CPR class this week it is...... :heartbeat

I'm sure we all hope this is not right because we're so excited...but, you'd think that with less applicants this term it would be a faster process, not a slower one... Does anyone know exactly when classes start?? I thought it was the middle of August...must be later than that.
Still Hopefull:nurse:

I need to register for CPR class also. Even though I want to do everything I can now, Im afraid to until I receive my letter. I don't want to spend money and not get in. Im a very optimistic person, but Im still afraid!!
