FSCJ/FCCJ Fall 2011 Hopefuls

I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.

Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?

Oh, wait! I get it! They require CPR for Healthcare Professionals and that is quisi equivalent to the BLS.

LOL!!! I'm with you! I'm so afraid of not working so that I can do well in the program, or not doing well in school because I have to work. It's a catch22.

omg, I just did a little research on Solantic prices...here's what I found on their website

Any luck with the insurance? I think they will cover the tetorifice if you tell them you were bit by a dog or got scratched by a nail. I know it is only $30 or so, but that could be a tank of gas or lunch with your new nursing student friend.

I need advice ....I just applied today with 188 and I doubt I will get in. My parents are moving out of state in the next 2 years so I need to get school done fast because they are my only help with my 3 young kids while I go to school. I am looking into another school like Keiser and I dont know how they rank. Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about Keiser, but I've watched a program on CNN that says to be weary of programs like these. I've also know a few people that have complained that it is expensive and hard to get employment after because of lack of experience. One of the horror stories I heard was that clinicals were done in places like daycares.

I would suggest to look for a front office MA job and then go to a school like Keiser to transition to back office with hopes to continue nursing school at a better time.

Or, go to FSCJ Deerwood and ask Frank what you can do over the fall semester to improve your standings in hopes of Spring enrollment.

Only things I can think of is try to improve your score if you don't get in, and/or consider an LPN or another program at Florida Coast Career Tech (A division of FSCJ). Later down the line could bridge into an RN. But hey, at this point in the game you never know. You might think you won't get in and you do, so just keep hope alive and best of luck to you!
