FSCJ/FCCJ Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.

Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?

:lol2:

sugarbee- i didn't think you could be enrolled in two colleges at once..let alone apply for the rn program at 2!!!??? how did you go about doing that?

also--i applied with 183.4--so more than likely i won't get in this term...considering everyone else posting has way higher scores...i was thinking about doing the cna program at fscj....can i get some feedback on this cna program???

You can apply to as many programs as you'd like. I have admission applications in at both FSCJ and Chamberlain. You just apply to the college, pay the admission fee, and apply to the program of your interest! Gives a better chance of getting in somewhere...lol. The wait is still killing me though!!

As far as CNA goes, I dont have any direct info on FSCJ's program, but all of their health related programs are looked very well upon and give great training. Ive had my CNA license for almost 6years now and love that I have had the chance to gain medical experience and get my foot in the door with hospitals I have worked at. I currently work at Baptist as an ACP and LOVE it!! Cant wait to become a full on nurse! If you do not get in and chose to do CNA in the meantime, then I would say go for it! It cant hurt, youll only gain experience!:)

Hi sugarbee! Welcome!! Here are a couple threads I found on FSCJ vs SJRCC. Some are a little old, but may give u an idea....

RN022,

Thank you for the threads,

They are a bit old, but thanks for the lead. :-)

EmGray,

Look up:) If you complete the FSCJ MA program, you may get extra points when you reapply. :)

Xo,

S

Yeah, they were a bit old! Haha. Thought it could give you some kind of info though. Im sure there are more recent threads about it out there....

Hi scrubsrus! thanks for sharing that info. Good luck on your application. Are you going for days or n/w? I wonder if anyone would know what the lowest score for n/w was in the recent past. hmmmm

From what I read in past threads, it seems like the cutoff for n/w is in the low to mid 210s. I did see one person get n/w with 203 points, but I'm wondering if it was because the person was male. I'm also applying for n/w only so I can keep working. I'm a little nervous hoping I calculated my points correctly!

Everyone seems to be really interested in N/W. Why?

Is it a more elite group of students or is it for convenience?

Xo,

S

I think it is more of a convenience factor. N/W would def benefit my schedule more, but I do NOT see myself getting in for it. One can hope though! N/W also has smaller class sizes, so that is nice as well. Good luck to everyone!!! Only another month and a half or so to wait....

I think the only thing elite about n/w is the smaller class size but other than that, for me, it's convenience. I'm 25 and work, and this will be my second degree out of four I plan to attain. I like my job now (and having money! lol) and with the hope that my boss will continue to work with me a little bit with scheduling, it'll be perfect for me to do nights. Plus, I am not much of a morning person when it comes to academics lol

I applied for n/w out of necessity. I am a single mother of 2 and I have to work FT in order to keep the lights on.

I am also not a morning person; I would hate to subject my classmates my morning moods. I would much rather expose my coworkers to my morning personality! lol lol lol

Has anyone researched the amount of time it truly takes FSCJ to send out acceptance/rejection letters for the following term? I know the staff says 8 weeks after the deadline date but I was kind of hoping it would be much sooner than that!!!! I know, I know....wishful thinking!!!lol :)

Analyzing past semesters, 6-6.5 weeks to get a letter, and it seems like the deadline to accept or decline your seat is 7.5-8 weeks from the deadline. If you're rejected but close enough to the cutoff, and there are declined seats you may get a call after the 8 week deadline. So that's why I'm guessing they say 8 weeks, those who are definitely in get notified and a chance to decline or accept their seat.
