Frye's Nclex Bullets

Published

Has anyone used this, and if so, did you find it useful at all?

hi cinthern! yep, i used frye's 3,000 nursing bullets...i found it useful though there are a couple of wrong bullets...probably typo errors. the bullets are easier to review and usually stick in my recall center....but i suggest you read the bullets more than once. do a lot of practice questions from mosby's (i used the review cards...very handy), saunder's, kaplan's, etc. and read the rationales please!

good luck!!!

Even though I'm not in nursing school just yet, I bought the book last summer. It looks like a good book to study by and it would seem to me it that it would stay in your memory better.

Anyone know which ones are wrong or fell victim to typos??

I bought the book too. I leave it in the car with a Taber's and read/annotate every time I'm waiting (usually for the kids!). I figure (hope) the information will somehow make its way into the depths of my brain and be useful someday.

if you are using the 5th edition of frye's, the errors are on the ff pages:

p.210 #3 bullet....vit B1 deficiency is thiamine deficiency NOT pernicious anemia which is vit B12 deficiency

p.218 #2 bullet....it should have been hypokalemia NOT hyperkalemia

if you can find more typo errors, take time to post it here so others (and Mr. Frye) will be aware.

Specializes in OB, lactation.

I have this book too... I like it alot when I have little bits of time to study... waiting rooms, swimming lessons, etc. I put checks by the ones that I already know for sure, then I go back and check the ones that I remember the second time, etc. etc. until I know it.

As I wrote, good for short bits of time, short attention span, etc. I like it, but it's not a replacement for a comprehensive NCLEX review book, more a compliment.

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy it here in the Philippines.. I was searching in eBay but they only have it in US..

I'd really love it if anyone can help me with this.. Personally, I find it easy to absorb concepts when I use bullets.. So, with that in mind, help?..:coollook:

I love these books. I also d/l it from skyscape for my PDA. I also like the pearls of wisdom books too. Graduate in May...YES
