Frustrating Start

Had a Little Darling come in with this simple issue, "my throat hurts and my nose is stopped up." Remember SIMPLE. Took temp, no temp. Throat clear. Stated LD could be having some allergy issues, gave LD throat spray and sent LD back to class with instructions to return as needed. A short time later I get a call from mom because LD text her. Mom informs me student was seen at the dr yesterday and was was given medication, but she had to send LD to school because she does not have an excuse for today. Mom said, "and you told her it was allergies." I informed mom LD darling did not tell me about the dr visit nor did I say "it was allergies, but could be." Mom went on to inform me student had a fever this morning before school. Reminded mom of the 24 fever free policy, to which she replies "Nobody told me that." My reply at that point was "It's in the handbook." (Which we as parents have to sign a paper at the beginning of the the year stating we have read it.) I informed mom I would not send student home or any other student home at this point. Mom informed me she would finish what she was doing and come pu student. I did remind her of the parent note which she could use if she had not done so this semester.
