Hello every one,
This site has been the most help when I was in school and I wanted to thank you for all your help and support.
The reason for the title is that I graduated in June, 2010 since than I have been looking for work. I think you know where this is going right? Everywhere I have been asked one out of two things, Do you have any experience? Do you know any one who works in this facility?
The answer for both of these question is no. Its been almost 6 months since i graduated. I am so frustrated at this point that I think I will never get a LPN job like this and my hard work and love for this work is just gonna go wasted.
Right now I am just hoping to get a job before my license expires.
Can some one Please help me. I am willing work any shift at any pay rate and willing to travel long distance.
Please help me before it gets too late to get a job because I have been out of school for so long.
FYI, I am LPN in NJ state but also willing to work in NY and PA.
Thank you in advance.

Hi javed - I agree you should look into doing private duty through a home health agency that will sometimes hire new grad LPNs. You would be taking care of adults and children with some sort of long term disability requiring skilled nursing care.
As far as the license is concerned don't let it expire even if you don't get hired right away! Check with your state BON about their policies for inactive licenses which will make it so that you do not have to take the NCLEX-PN again but simply reactivate it by taking the required CEUs for your state. You will have to pay fees but I stayed out for over 10 years and kept my license inactive - I'm so glad I did!!
Getting To Great

This is semi-everywhere...I know this may sound blah to you, but you need to put out you resume like its the 'end-all-be-all' in this economic out-pour. I live in NY and the job market here is not so great, as you may know, but for Health Professionals there's a lot of potential. To get a quick decent job here its a formula of who-you-know. You will definitely get a job so there's no need to worry at all. Just continue to search and post your resumes; and you will be alright.

Anywhere you made a nice impression when you did clinicals? That is where many of us got hired. Good luck and don't discount putting a nice suit on and taking your resume in person especially to the smaller LTCs.
