FRCC has nursing programs in westminster and fort collins (I think longmont and boulder ).....I graduated from the fort collins ADN program in 2004. Really can't say it was anything to brag about. It always seemed to me that they had too many students and not enough instructors or decent clinical placements. Like every other CC in CO they have an outrageous long waitlist. A friend of mine is attending right now and she waited 3 years. I only had to wait 1.5 years. I was somewhat bothered by how high their drop out rate was.....I think like 30% of the students who started in my class didn't finish. My friend says the same thing is going on in her class, and there are some really nitpicky instructors. The only good thing is they do have a high NCLEX pass rate. I did hear thru the grapevine the westminster program is better - don't know firsthand.

I loved the FRCC Boulder County Campus. The instructors were excelent and I received a great education there.

So, I really did like FRCC. I received my LPN there in 05. I just completed my BSN at UOP in May. Now, I will be starting the FNP program at Regis this coming May (if I am accepted). The only thing with FRCC is that is was full time and I was unable to work and go to school during the last semester -- but it was worth it. Whatever it takes, however long the wait list is. Keep after it. You will look back in a few years and be soooo happy.

I have done really well. The teachers at our campus in Longmont are great, they have faith in us and push us and never hesitate to help. There have been a couple of teachers I didn't care for, but that is life. They test academically and NCLEX and I have learned alot.

I think it is worth the wait...I think the cost is beyond reasonable with the COF( we are talking about 2500$ a semester) and the classes are small.

When you register, they always make it sound worse than it is. It's not that bad. they will say the wait is 3 years, but I have friends who got in in 6 months.

our class is small...22 students? We do our clinicals at BCH(mostly),Avista, and Exempla.

Our drop out rate this year ahs been 1 person...Everyone else is A/B grades.

We have been told the NCLEX pass rate for our school in Longmont is 98%...Can't beat that.

I graduated in December 07 from the Westminster campus and was impressed by the dedication and intelligence of the instructors. I had been on the wait list for 2.5 years before attending. I feel I was well prepared for NCLEX. With any program, it helps if you are an active participant and proactive in seeking out help with your own weaknessess. I'd recommend the program without reservation.

I attend FRCC in Fort Collins right now, I start the RN program in August. I have met a few people that just graduated last year and they had a lot of praise for it. I know a few people that graduated when it first started and in 04 and they said it was horrible than. So I am guessing they have worked out a lot of kinks. My next door neighbor attended in 04 I think it was. Anyway, I can say so far the staff especially the nursing admissions lady has been extremly helpful.

hi whisperinglamp, you still there? i came across this thread because i am looking into nursing school at frcc westminter campus. the westmister campus program is not nationally accredited (still) , so it obviously wasn’t at your graduation date. when rn-bsn programs say you need a adn from an accredited institution, does this mean that the adn does not make that requirement? help me if i am confused :)
