Tweety that's nice that you're finally getting together

Hi Dianah

Stars that was nice of your neighbors and your SIL

Ado that was nice you gave her that quilt, kind of a family hierloom

Went bird watching yesterday, was warmer than expected.  And fairly quiet, not that  many people out

Then drove to my cousin's for Thanksgiving, was a smaller group than usual, especially since my sister decided to  have  Thanksgiving  with her MIL instead.  Was a nice time, got caught up on family stuff.  Found out the reason my aunt has not been to the last few Thanksgivings or Christmases is that she is becoming an increasingly paranoid shut in.  Kinda sad but  something I had suspected for  some time.

Today I'm not sure what I'll do.  Would like to ride my bike but it's in the 30s right now, might go to the arboretum instead.  Need to do some grocery shopping, now that the Thanksgiving rush is done.  Will see if J is able to get together today,  though I'm leaving the ball in his court

Might be able to ride the bike later in the day,  when it's warmer, if I have time.  It's supposed to get up to the 50s today

Good morning, all, and a belated Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a nice day, celebrating with family, except that eldest grandson wasn't feeling great (mild fever, headache, COVID neg.) This morning I had leftover pumpkin pie for breakfast, nom, nom. I participated in a fun run Turkey Trot in the morning. I was going to do 5K (3miles) but opted for the 2 mile option. The hills were just a little much for me. The weather was clear and cool, today is is raining. No plans except enjoying turkey sandwiches for lunch and finishing the jigsaw puzzle we started with youngest grandson yesterday.

Good morning!

Stars, how nice to have all that food.

Joe, sorry to hear about your aunt's issues.

I had a very pleasant time with my niece and her family.  My ex-brother in law who helped raise my niece and was married to my sister came with his new girlfriend.  She is very nice and stable and I'm so happy for him.  She brought her grown daughter who was equally as nice.

My sister apparently is in town but my niece didn't invite her.  Don't blame her, who wants any drama.  I'm angry she came to town without telling me, wanting to see me, or bother to answer my calls.  I would have made Thanksgiving plans with her.  Don't know why I'm on the ignore list but I won't lose any sleep over it.  Hopefully at this point she doesn't call.

I'm getting ready for an early departure tomorrow for my trip to Costa Rica.  Will shut my mind off to family concerns.  I took the dogs to my (ex) brother-in-laws and he will take care of them.  They know him and the place and I feel good about even though the older one is now completely blind.

Joe, Nice of the neighbors, yes indeed! ?...but the SiL? ?She is doing her Obligatory-20-Minute-Visit, like she does about every 3 or 4 months or so. It is how she soothes her guilt, ie, "helping" us w/ Nannie, ie bringing leftovers.? Give her an aluminum-foil halo for being annoying. Ppfftt. One of these days I feel like saying, "Just take your food back home. We don't need it." But I probably never will say that unless extremely provoked.

Nobody in hubby's family EVER offers any kind of help, EVER, including hubby's dgt.

j22- They had a Turkey Trot in the city the other day, but I only saw them running on TV. There were a LOT of folks participating. // Nice that you had a good Thanksgiving day.

Tweety, Enjoy Costa Rica!

Hey, dianah---I have already finished one of the many books you sent. It's like Christmas, getting a box of books!

Nannie is wide awake today, she is playing with her fingernails, ? which are a witchy-long length, and kind of swirled or curved around sort of sideways from her nailbeds.  Ugly. She has asked me, "When are they having the meeting here?" Then she told me about the men that work here, and another group of people that were supposedly visiting. "Are they all still here?" And "Did they take care of..." At which point hubby asked, "Who are you talking about?" and her answer was "....Well,....." And then she started telling us that she was "on the list" and some guy was trying to figure out who else was to sleep in her room. She is talking more and more these days, and making less and less sense. I'm really sad that today is not one of her usual Siesta Days! I wish I had the know-how about taping her conversations, so you could hear what it's like! Hubby said that yesterday she was sitting here in the den all by herself and holding a back-and-forth convo with SEVERAL non-existent beings. Well, at least her "company" is keeping her busy! ? And we don't have to feed or care for any of them!

Oh gosh. Hubby is in a MOOD today. He has been out in the man-cave nipping. He gave Nannie her lunch kind of late, and now he just served her another plateful for supper. He asked her if she was hungry and she said "Not really, I just ate a while ago." She had taken her AM pills about maybe 3 hours ago and he just now gave her the PM pills. I told hubby she didn't eat the turkey at lunch, and she c/o "so many tomatoes." (little ones). Now she has the same stuff on her supper plate as was on her lunch plate. Hubby grumpily said, "Well, if you don't like it, you don't have to eat it."

This will be a good evening to keep my mouth shut; I don't feel like listening to him. I said something about Nannie answering him that she wasn't really that hungry right now, and he stopped me mid-way in my comment, like "UH! If you don't mind I was asking Nannie a question." Oooookay then!

Good evening all!

Didn't sleep well last night, hopefully tonight is better.  I didn't nap, so that should help.  We had planned to get together with the band in the high desert, to begin practicing Christmas material.  Fiddler had something come up, last-minute, that she had to tend to, so we cancelled the trip to the high desert and she came over here and we three practiced.  We felt like we made good headway, and are more prepared for the next practice (we have two more scheduled before the Dec. 10 program).  Then we went to the Mediterranean Food restaurant, and had wonderful food and chatting!  The weekend will be quiet, not much planned.

No Stars, I know you spent many years taking care of your tiny-nineties, and probably heard a lot of verbal salad in that time.  Hopefully Nannie will be on the Quiet Train tomorrow, and your dh will be less prickly.  Glad you are enjoying some of the books.  ?  Soon I will rummage around some more and send more.  I should do more but seem to only do very small projects each time I apply myself.  Oh well, I guess it's better than doing nothing.  It's much more enjoyable to dig out a few books and mail them than to mop the kitchen floor. ?

Have a good evening!
