hi...
Good day... I am a 2008 graduate in Bachelor of science in Nursing and is locally licensed to practice here in the Philippines but then again, the old dilemma for the emergence of increasing numbers of nurses here in our country had led to Jobless degree holders. most hospitals here offers training rather than being employed and the worse scenario is you are obliged to pay in order to take that training. I am presently taking my review for IELTS and waiting for my legibility to take the exam in for RN in the state of CAlifornia. i am really confused.. i wanted to go in USA and worked even as a NURSING ASSISTANT??? do you think that would be possible and then take my NCLEX there??? do you thinki can penetrate USA onmy own????
thankyou for all the comments..
Godbless

If you are a green card holder or US citizen you can work as a CNA if you meet the requirements for that position.
If you are waiting to immigrate read all the links Karen provided you and expect to wait along time which by that time you will have completed the process and can work as a RN.

There are no visas for care assistants so as mentioned in previous post unless you are already a GC holder or have US citizenship there is nothing for you

The problems that you're having in the Philippines about finding a job as a RN are the same problems here in the US where we have new grad RN who can't find a job. You're going from one problem to the next. Our economy is in the toilet, our new grads are having a hard time finding work as a RN.
If you haven't applied for a GC then expect to wait for years at a chance to obtain one. Also keep in mind that California has a high unemployment rate at this time, and our new grads are also having a hard time finding employment. Right now California or the US isn't the place to go. There's not a nursing shortage here as you would think, there's a oversaturation of new grads who can't find a job. I suggest you either stay home and gain some experience as a RN or find another country where you can work as a RN.
