betterworldbooks.com buys back books online, and you don't have to pay to ship the books to them. You can enter your textbook's ISBN and see how much they will pay you. If it's more than your college bookstore, it might be worth your time:

I just got an email from them about this, and thought I'd pass it along.

Wow, thank you for posting that! I was able to get a price for the books my college WOULDN'T take back! And for 4 books (one of the four being a study guide that came with a text) I was able to make $86.00 roughly, that's great, I'm so happy right now, thank you so much because if you didn't post this I wouldn't have known about it. Seriously .. everyone go try every textbook you have even if you don't think you'll get ANYTHING for it, try it!
& I DO recognize this company because I'm pretty sure that I have bought books from them before, so this is great =)

You are very welcome; glad to help. :) I buy from betterworld.com, too. They have good prices and their shipping is cheap and they support literacy charities.
Oh definitely! I saw that & I really liked knowing that I was giving to charity as well. I'm completely ecstatic about this (considering I have no job, this is great!)

I have a ton of undergrad books that i am looking to sell but most web sites won't take many of them back. Anyone here sold anything like that on Amazon or Ebay?
I'm sorry that I can't help, I've never sold anything on amazon or ebay, but I have bought textbooks from both of them! So you may get buyers!
Does your school have a classifieds forum that you can post in to try and sell to other students?
No they don't thats always the other side of the coin. Some professors are nice so they let you use older cheaper versions but then when your done those are harder to sell.
Oh man. I'm fortunate that my school has that option as well (it doesn't always work, but sometimes!) Yeah I'd say try for amazon or eBay if that better world books doesn't work for you.

I have sold on eBay before, just not books. Its really easy. You could either list it for auction or buy it now. Remember though, ebay has fees and they aren't that low. I have thought about selling on Amazon too, but I don't know if it would work for me.
One thing about betterworld is the amt they will give you on a book changes. I checked last week to see what I would get for my text (44, paid 88 so not too bad), but when I went to do it for good yesterday the amt dropped 5.00. I am going to check the bookstore and see what I will get from them first.
I went to our bookstore today and they offered me 32.00 for my Bio book (paid 88.00 and retail was 125.00). Betterworld gave me 44.00 - woohoo! Can't beat that you just pop it in the mail and don't even have to pay shipping. I will definitely be selling my books this way from now on. Thanks for the tip AtomicWoman!
You are so very welcome! Every extra dollar counts, I know that! :)
I went to their web site and entered 3 books. 2 of them they offered me 0.00 and the other one they wouldnt even take as a donation lol. Oh well i'll try ebay and amazon.
