Hi,
I failed my Nclex the first time I did it 6 months ago in frankfurt, and was realy devastated because I had spent many many time working on it, and wasn't able to know what I was able to do more for the next time. Almost every content area was below or near the passing standard, I had none above.
Well, I finally passed the Nclex and get it on the second time by using this very effective way of working:
- first of all, you have to collect all the nursing studying books you might have (Saunders, Kaplan, Nclex made increadibly easy, and so on...)
- you have also to have access on the internet while you are working on it
- you need almost one cd of Nclex-type questions with a bank of 3000 questions or more...
Then, the method is to learn by answering the questions given by the bank on your cd.
There are 2 possibilities.
First one, you know the answer, or are almost sure to know it, then enter it and validate to discover if it is correct or uncorrect.
Second one, which will be unfortunatelly the most frequent, you have no idea of the answer, and maybe have never heard of the illness or the medication the question is talking about.
The trick is: before validating to read the correct answer with the whole explanation:down:, take the time necessary to find it out by yourself, by reading all your nursing books, all the documentation you have, and if you don't find it there just go on the internet and make some searchs on google to try to find it.
By this very simple way, you will remember the answers much easier, and will even learn without having the impression of learning.
You will be very surprised of all what your brain will be able to remember in a very few time, everything will be printed in your mind and your brain without any sensation of effort.
it is also possible to work with other students on the same questions, each one trying to find the answer the most quickly as possible. And discussions between students will also make the remembering easier.
I can assure you that by working this way, by answering the most important number of questions as possible, you will seriously improve your chances of success, without losing your time by working on things that will be forgotten a few days later because you will learn too much things in a too few time.
Hope my method will help some of you, and I wish it will help you to succeed passing the Nclex the way I did...
GOOD LUCK !!!

Congratulations!! Glad that you figured out a way to pass the NCLEX. It's just a silly test that you've got to get out of the way. Now, you get to learn all about nursing! Good luck with your career.
