Follow-Up After Job Interview

I had an interview last week and I did send them a thank you email along with my references.

It has been one week and they said that it would take about 2 weeks to hear back from them.

I was wondering if it is appropriate to send another email saying thank you and asking if they were able to contacy my references.

I would be respectful of their time-line and contact them only in the event that they don't contact you after two weeks.

You could always contact your references to see if they've heard from this potential employer.

I know you are probably excited and it's hard to wait but you don't want to come across as pushy.
