Follow up calls after an interview

I had two interviews last month. I have not heard anything afterwards. Just know one checked my reference. What is a good time to call to follow up? I had the first one about 3 weeks ago, and the 2nd a little bit more than a week ago.

I'm still looking for my first job after school. Thanks for any suggestions.

I usually follow up with a thank you letter via email within 24-48 hours after the interview. A follow up call usually within 2 weeks is appropriate.

Good luck with your job search...wish me luck in mine :D

You should have already called to follow up on the one 3 weeks ago and it's time for you to call to follow up on the 2nd one. Always ask before leaving an interview "Thank you for your time today, when should I expect to hear from you by?" This will help you gauge when it is appropriate to call to follow up, but never more than a week should go by, not in this job market. You really have to be pro-active and participate in the process to secure a job in this market as a new graduate.

Good luck!

I agree with sending a thank-you letter 1-2 days after the interview (as soon as you can); and then follow up with a phone call 1-2 weeks later if you haven't heard anything. Good luck with your job search! :)

No follow up calls, Just a follow up thank you letter. In the letter you want to thank the person for their time, state that you enjoyed meeting with them, were impressed by what the facility had to offer and outline why you feel you would be a good fit for the position. End with a note of thanks again and that you look forward to hearing from them again soon. If you have a personal business card, enclose one. I think everyone should have a supply of personalized stationary with business cards for just this purpose.
