Can a FNP specialize in pediatrics? Has anyone heard of an FNP working in a peds clinic?

Yes. I know several FNPs who have elected to work in a pediatric office.

Do you need any special training/certification or pediatric background to work in a pediatric office or pediatric urgent care?

Hello,

No, you do not. Most practices don't care because you receive pediatric training during the FNP program from where you graduate. Some practices prefer an FNP because they also have expertise in the "older" pediatric patient. Dr. DD

One of my faculty is an FNP and works as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
