Hello all, I am starting FNP school in just about 2 weeks. I was hoping to get advice, ways to be successful, insider tips, and anything else you would like to add that may be helpful. Just FYI it is online at Simmons College. I got accepted into multiple, and it came down to this one and UAB. I chose it because it was synchronous and gave you multiple advisors as you progressed through the program; as well as an clinical placement advisor. If anyone has questions for me I will do my best to answer. Thank you!!

Good for you, and best wishes for success! I would say the number one thing to do, as you got into a program that seems to value this--is use your resources well and often. Open a clear line of communication with your academic advisors. Keep a running list of every single skill, certification, etc that you have. With the goal being a sterling resume in which to get job as an NP.
See where NP's are used in your area. Start talking with those places. Not only would it be a good clinical possibility, but a future job prospect as well.
Keep us posted and don't get too overwhelmed. Sometimes online one can get distracted. Create your own time and space.
Again, wishing you the best.
