I need help making a decision to choose between FNP/PA program and working to lead a family business in assisted living.

I have been working at a local hospital in California for year and a half now. I'm not bragging, but just putting out there what's going on in my career right now. I'm in my late 20's and last year I made approx 120K. I'm satisfied with that income and enjoy bedside but I know I won't work at bedside forever because of the physical strains from bedside nursing. I have progressed well on my unit and enjoy being involved in extra activities that are going on our unit; such as: precepting, leading in EHR, and guiding the other new hires who were hired after me. I just started training for charge nurse yesterday and am very excited for this new/different aspect of nursing. My family and coworkers see a lot of potential in me.

Before I started working on my unit, I was accepted to a local FNP/PA program. This program is Full time, no exceptions are made. M-Th 8-5 and then towards the end of the program M-F 8-5. Rest of free time is spent studying and I could try to pick up a per diem position. Program is 2 years (FNP) to 2.5 years (PA) costing approx 80K. I deferred going forward with this program at that time because I was excited about my new job, was looking forward to making some money, and felt it would be better if I get some experience first.

Now, its time to make the decision. I am having a difficult time deciding if I should go for the FNP/PA program or venturing into an assisted living family business while eventually (few years from now) working at the hospital part time once I have kids. If I end up working at the hospital, I would most def aim for a leadership position and work for my family's assisted living as well.

The family's assisted living business in a phase of upward growth. Currently we operate a 40 bed facility. We plan on building out multiple facilities, operating them and then selling them. The projects would get bigger and bigger as we go. I see a lot of potential here because my family has good experience with assisted living facilities and due to the baby boomer generation aging, the need for assisted living facilities is increasing.

I can see myself enjoying all these different options equally so its difficult for me to make this decision at this time. I would also like to let you know that kids will be also be a very important part of my future and I do have plenty of help to raise them. Any recommendations? With the information I've given you, where do you see me being most sucessful?
