Who has applied to Daytona State College LPN program for the fall of 2012?

U.S.A. Florida

I am new here and I am looking to share experiences with other Daytona State College LPN applicants who have applied this May of 2012.

Does anyone know how long it will take before we hear if we are in or out of the DSC program? I have applied for the day classes.

Actually, I will post the answer for anyone who may be wondering the same thing.

Applicants will find out 4-6 weeks after the close of the application period, which was May 31st. Applicants will be notified by mail.

I was also informed that they go by GPA for acceptance into the program, and that you just have to "pass" the TEAS V test.

So I am nail biting while I wait.... along with every other applicant! Good Luck Everyone!!!

I have applied to the RN program. When I spoke with the advisor, she said we would know before the 4th of July. :) Good luck. I am not holding out too much hope for the Fall class, but I should be able to get in the Spring class with a 3.3 GPA.

Wow, by July 4th!!! Thats even better. I would like to know as soon as I can, so I can plan my next move. I hope the wait time is the same for LPN. I wonder how long the prior applicants had to wait before hearing something, either good or bad? I really hope I get in. I have a 4.0 in the Pre-req's, and although I passed my TEASV in the areas they required, my Science score was NOT as good as it could have been. It's been over 20 years since I have been in school, and when I was in school subjects such as Chemistry were not a requirement for graduation. But I DID actually pass on the first try, having my highest score in Math. That was a surprise.

I applied for the RN program that begins Fall 2012 too. I have a 3.8 GPA and a 81 on the TEAS( 90 in science, 90 in math) so I really think I have a great shot.

Will we only hear via USPS? I wish we could find something out online.

Anyone know when we will be able to start registering for classes? I hope that we all get to register at the same time!

Good luck to you all.

I was told by a nursing dept. advisor that notification will be by regular US Mail.

I do know from my co worker who is currently in her first semester of the RN Program at DSC, that she got a larger white envelope, not a regular envelope containing her acceptance letter, and other things that must be done before the start of classes.

If accepted, you will also have to go to Nursing Program Orientation, which I believe she said is mandatory to attend. That info should be in with your notification packet. She also said that she had to register for the actual classes during or right after orientation, and that they will help you with that.

Hope this helps!

It is 6-22-12, and I am still waiting to hear about acceptance or denial. I think waiting is so hard when you really really want something...

I think you have a great shot at getting in, Fldobielover! A 3.8 GPA is good, and your TEAS V scores are great, too! Good Luck!! Keep us posted!!
