When to apply for NCLEX in Florida?

Hi everyone,

I am just wondering when I am supposed to begin my application with the Florida Board of Nursing. I go to school in Louisiana and graduate this May. Our state board of nursing suggests applying with them at least 60 days prior to graduation. I want to get my initial license in Florida though, and I don't see anything about when to apply for it on the FBN website. I also see that they require transcripts to be sent from my school to them, so does this mean I can not apply until after graduation? And how long would that take after sending the initial application to actually scheduling NCLEX? I would like for this process to go as smoothly and quickly as possible. Thanks in advance!

I am sure your school will go over all of this with you closer to graduation. Before you can even apply the Board must see that you graduated. The Pearson and FL Board of Nursing website also provide info.

Ok thanks, that definitely helps! My school does go over all of this, but they have only supplied us with forms for the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and are pushing us to submit those in the next month or two (before graduation!). They don't know much about applying to other states (since all states are different), which is why I'm taking it into my own hands to figure out what *I* need to do. I have looked at both websites and have figured out the requirements to meet and exactly what I need to do.. I was just unsure about when to get started. Thanks again! :)
